Well, it was time for a facelift, and we've updated the default theme for the site. We hope you like this one and comments and criticism is welcome. But please bare with us as there's a few bugs still in the system, like the shoutbox is displaying yet (it'll be on a few days Akela haha  ) and the text where it says welcome user etc needs moving as well as the top banner extending but we'll get it sorted as soon as we can.If you don't like the theme, or you prefer another you can always change it by going to the Profile button at the top left, going to Themes and Layout Preferences and then changing the theme from there. |

| We want to see entries from all over the world from you creative MK'ers for the Winter 08 Competition. This section is for poetry. So enter your poetry submissions below before December 31st 2008. There are four art competition sections so please mark your post at the beginning with the title in caps as in below: • TRADITIONAL ART • DIGITAL ART • PHOTOGRAPHY • SPECIAL ART The traditional/digital/photography comps are pretty explanitary, with no rules as such. They can be of any subject or length just as long as they follow the usual MK rules. The SPECIAL section is for a specific art challenge as below: The Special Section is a art competition where the submissions must follow the following guidelines: 1. they must be related to Winter (snow, cold, etc) 2. They must feature the colors; blue, purple and feature somewhere in the piece a snowy mountain. There WILL be a special prize for the winner of the SPECIAL section so it's all worth entering. So off you go, get posting and good luck! |

| Hello everyone. I just finished transferring MK to a different server. There is a possibility that some of you will still see the MK that resides on the old server while the new nameservers for the domain propagate. I know that one post from Akela was already lost in the switch, but that's all that I am aware of. There is a chance that if you see the old MK (which will me missing this post) then any posts you make there will be lost. There may be a few bits that I overlooked in the move, so if you notice any problems using the forums, just reply to this message and I'll try to take care of it promptly. |

| Okay, so MK isn't really becoming a pay-for site. It will remain free. Sorry if we scared anyone with our rather tasteful and extremely witty April Fools Day joke. You can still pay us if you really, really want to, but it is not necessary to use and peruse this site. Have a nice day. |

| As of April 1st, free memberships on MK will become severely limited in what they can do. You will still be able to read the site but you will be unable to post in any of the arts sections. Only paid accounts will retain full privileges. Also, paid accounts will receive access to the secret forums on MK. The secret forums have been here all along but most of you who are on the free memberships will not know about them. The secret forums are extremely busy, receiving upwards of 300 posts a day. If you want your stuff to be seen, you've got to be in the secret forums. Paid accounts come in several varieties. You can purchase one month for only $49.99. Two months is a better deal for only $89.99. Next up is six months for $245.99. Finally, there is one year which is the best deal at $360, which equals out to only $30 a month. With deals like these, you'd have to be a FOOL not to take advantage! Also, MK has now achieved tax free status as a non-profit charity organization, so you can write off your membership as a donation when you do your taxes. This is an excellent way to get more money back on your tax refund! If you have any questions or comments, feel free to reply here. Of course, if you don't have a paid account, you won't be able to reply to this message, but... oh well. Happy April 1st, everyone! |
