Customer reviews for Spore:
- Great game, lots of fun. (2008-10-03)

First of all I have to laugh at all the people depriving themselves of a great game because of the DRM that it uses. Especially when most of their "facts" about the DRM Spore uses and DRM in general are all based on wild speculation, misinformation, and outright lies. All I can say to them is, "Your loss, not mine!"
Amazon's customer review system is intended for customers who have bought and used the product to relate their experiences to other customers considering buying the product.
None of you have bought Spore, nor have you played it. So your reviews don't belong here and should simply be deleted! IMO you are just abusing Amazon's customer review system which makes you no better than the DRM you hate.
I have lots of games protected with SecuROM and it never gives me any trouble so I don't understand all this hatred for it unless it's because you want to share your game with friends and the DRM system won't let you. To that I say, "Good, that means the DRM is doing what it was designed to do."
Bottom line, all you people posting negative reviews for a product you haven't bought or even seen are just a bunch loosers!
For everyone else, ignore all the doom and gloom criers and get Spore! It's a great game that you can play over and over again because each time you play will be different. Sure the basic them and plot (if any) will be the same but unless you make all the same choices throughout the game, it will be a different game.
I enjoy trying different things while creating my creatures, some work and some don't, but that's the who fun of the game.
I actually bought Spore twice. The first one was bought through the EA store as a downloadable game. That was before I knew of the Galactic edition. But once I saw the Galactic edition and all the extras that came with it, I enjoy the game so much I had to have it.
- Demo was fun, but won't buy due to DRM (2008-10-02)

I agree with many other review writers that the DRM is over the top. I won't buy this title due to the highly annoying DRM. I thought the demo that I downloaded from the publisher's site was fun, and the game seems like it has a lot of potential. I'll wait until it's in the $5 bargain bin in a few years to see it. Or until they release a version that doesn't have such demented, restrictive policies governing its use.
- I LOVE SPORE! (2008-10-02)

When I first heard about Spore, I thought it sounded like so much fun. Being a huge fan of Sims, I couldn't wait for the game to come out. Then I saw it would be selling for $50, and I didn't have the money. I looked around online for a cheaper price, I didn't find one but I did read all the negative reviews on Spore and it kind of put me off of the game. Still, when I finally saved the money to get it, I did, and I have to say I love it. I'm still in the Tribal stage, but the game has been so much fun. I don't know what all the negative fuss is about, but the game itself is a lot of fun and I could definitely recommend it.
- Incredible game, the first time through. (2008-10-02)

OVERALL, this game is indeed a classic. I had an amazing time playing through the first time, got my moneys worth for sure.
Car, plane, boat, creature, and building creation options are not infinite, but no way near restricted. A little imagination takes you a long way with this game. Most of the fun comes from watching your creation in the "real world" as game play elements are a little repetitive the second time through.
If you take your time and milk the game for all its worth, rather than rushing to the end, it is well worth the money and a gaming experience you will not forget.
After a short break, its always fun playing a new creation through.
If your into creative imagination oriented gaming, I recommend this game as well as Garry's Mod for Half Life 2, and every "sim" and "sims" game ever.
- Customization is the new part here (2008-10-02)

Everything except the amount of character customization has been done. I felt like I was playing a tutorial, and the the GUI was unimpressive. Let me rephrase that; the GUI was a slightly altered copy of Blizzard's older games, like StarCraft. It's a great system but I didn't feel like spore was actually offering anything new. It's a fun game but as an adult who likes strategy games, not very stimulating.
