It's another week, and I've been forwarded yet another youtube video that I MUST see.
This time it's some guy lipsynching to Moosebutter's brilliant John Williams Medley (with lyrics all about Star Wars).

Concordia College in Moorhead, MN is quickly becoming the spot for a cappella music in the area. Over the past 10 years or so the school has been putting on their "A Cappella Night" events. Starting in the late 90's with Concordia group Marcoux Corner they have brought in the likes of: Blind Mans Bluff, Shadow, InPulse, Chapter 6, Naturally 7, FACE, The Fault Line and more. The last few years they have done 2-3 "A Cappella Night" celebrations each school year. This year they are likely to hi...

Here are a few of my thoughts upon picking BOCA tracks:
* The annual trend of BOCA track selection becoming more competitive continues. In fact, I think this year might be a watershed year in which the average collegiate a cappella album had at least one potential track. I sat in on Dylan Bell’s great songwriting class at SoJam over the weekend. There were lots of college kids there. I’ve taught songwriting classes to college kids before – lots of interest! it seems.
However, I’ve yet to have any of my class attendees produce any original a cappella music.

From the Mail Pile:
Hey Bill,
You've worked as a producer for a long time, and for both a cappella and instrumental groups. Do you feel like there are fundamental differences in producing/mixing bands versus collegiate a cappella groups? For instance, more or less post-production or reliance on individual musicality?
Just curious if the two typically differ in your experience.
