The Olympus Camedia C-2500L was released in
October 1999 and is the latest, top-of-the-line digital camera offering from
Olympus. It has a 2/3-inch, 2.5 megapixel progressive scan CCD capable of
producing photo quality 8 x 10-inch and 11 x 14-inch prints. It features a 3x
aspherical glass zoom lens, 9.2 to 28mm (36-110mm equivalent) with a maximum
aperture of F2.8 and a 43mm threaded lens barrel. It also has an accurate
Through-the-Lens SLR optical viewfinder with spot meter and three exposure modes
as well as dioptric correction for viewfinder sharpness. There is a flash hot
shoe that when teamed up with the optional FL-40 dedicated flash will expand the
functionality and range of the camera. It is capable of high-resolution
rapid-fire photography in both regular and burst modes. It is the first prosumer
digital camera to have dual memory slots to accommodate both SmartMedia and
CompactFlash cards.
